Qualified Train Driver

As a Train Driver, you primarily will work alone and be required to maintain high levels of concentration at all times whilst being willing to accept the responsibility associated with the role. However, you don’t just drive trains, you are the technical and operations specialists within our teams that deliver the highest standards of on-train service expected by customers.
Priding on safety and customer service, we are looking for individuals with an excellent safety record, solid train driving experience, a passion for the rail industry and delivering an on-time service for our passengers. To do this successfully, you’ll need to be safety conscious and able to deal with pressurised situations and emergencies. But you’ll also be required to work as a team player, communicating with the Control function and delivering excellent customer service skills at all times.
The successful applicants will be able to work under pressure and react positively to unforeseen circumstances.

Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus
Have a pro-active, ‘can do’ approach.
Work well in a team environment.
Be able to work shifts including weekends
To live within an hour of our Chingford depot and be able to get to the depot without a reliance on the use of public transport

Must be a fully Qualified Train Driver
Good attention to detail
Flexible approach to working conditions and working in a changing environment
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work as part of a team
Maintain vigilance and concentration
Ability to co-ordinate the use of controls operated by hand and foot, necessary for safe train driving
