About the role

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to join the Project Delivery Practice, delivering projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to be part of the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects, influence the growth and development of the project management team and progress in their career.

The Project Delivery Practice leads the most complex, iconic, and exciting projects within the UK.

The assistant project managers in this team directly influence the lives of people across the UK by improving their passenger experience, making their journeys better and by making the country a greener place to live.

You will be responsible for supporting the bidding and delivery of our Transportation projects to time, cost and quality throughout their project lifecycle, from tender to closeout.

Responsibilities
Support the successful delivery of projects using key project management principles, including risk management, budget control and quality, whilst always maintaining a focus on safety.
Support the Project Manager in co-ordinating design resources, ensuring Atkins quality of work is maintained and balanced against the Client’s own requirements.
Maintaining and developing excellent Client relationships.
Support in work-winning, including preparation of bids and tenders.
Support the development of more junior staff through technical training and mentoring.

Qualifications
BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Alternatively, a good track record of project management is ideal across transportation schemes.
