Trainee Railway Jobs: Rail Engineering Technician Level 3 – 3 Years Duration

Telecoms: Understanding telecoms principles and associated operating procedures for railway communication and information systems (and systems interfaces), including optical networks, passenger alarms, customer information, CCTV and wireless networks. Installation, maintenance repair and testing of telecoms and transmission systems, equipment and components, including fibre optics and copper materials. Understand the types of operational constraints when carrying out telecoms installation and maintenance activities.

Mandatory units:
All learners must complete the three mandatory units:
001: Working Safely within rail engineering
002 Mathematics for engineers
003: Engineering solutions and innovation within the rail industry

Engineering principles units for Trainee Railway Jobs:
All learners must select at least one engineering principles unit:
004: Electrical and Electronic Principles
005: Mechanical Principles

015: Conduct Specified Testing of Telecoms Systems
016: Carry Out Replacement of Components from Telecoms Assets

Railway Trainee Jobs: Competence Qualification
NVQ: Linked to IRSE qualification for Telecoms test and install

Apprentices Salary: £12K per year on PAYE

Holiday entitlement as per government guidelines 26–28 days, including bank holidays
School holidays and half terms

Study & Work:

first year in college is full-time studying plus working during school holidays.
Training provider location in London (CONEL).
2nd and 3rd year in college are part-time study and work combined at Coral.
Work with experienced staff.
Learn job-specific skills.

candidate will need to have right to work and have lived and worked in UK for at least 3 years.

Required is good level of Math (GCSE 5 and above)

Schedule:

8-hour shift
Monday to Friday
