Contract Systems Engineers needed – Outside IR35!!

Are you looking for a new Systems Engineering Challenge in the Rail Industry?

We are looking for a Contract Systems Engineer on an initial 6 month contract Outside IR35 with Hybrid working as it will involve visiting the Client’s site. The Systems Engineer should have a strong technical background in the Rail Industry ideally on Rolling Stock.

The Systems Engineer will be involved in all technical activities necessary to ensure the systems design is compliant to customer requirements and applicable law and standards, managing system supplier’s equipment design, its integration and the verification and validation of the solutions. They will actively take part in the design enhancements needed to solve problems that arise during production, testing and commissioning.

The Systems Engineer will be involved with different electronic systems installed on board rolling stock such as the Passenger Information System, ASDO, Passenger Counting System, Seat reservation System, Wifi and similar systems. They will also lead the Interface between the system supplier and the rest of the teams involved in the project from engineering, quality, testing to approvals, purchasing and project management.

They will need to undertake design validation activities related to the Systems they are responsible for and ensure the design is compliant with the System Specification. Then they will manage all technical documentation applicable to the Systems under their responsibility, such as the technical description, functional description, test procedures and configuration list. They will then support the Approval process of the Systems design with Certified Bodies.
