Support Engineer – Train Rolling stock

Shifts: Permanent Nights (Monday to Friday)

Position Summary:
We are looking for a high level Mechanical Engineer to work on rolling stock (DMU trains) based out of a depot in London.
The role is geared around carrying out fault investigation work on trains in service – particularly fault finding and resolving issues leading to start up failures. This is a mechanically biased position.
The successful applicant will have to investigate faults from technical data, from their own data analysis and through communication with technicians in the field and maintenance engineers on depot.
The role will also
include making additional support documentation – working from tablets and mobile applications.
Another element to the role is actual hands on fault finding / investigation, when on occasions you’ll be asked to advise technicians on how to resolve issues and repair defects.

Person Profile/Experience:
You must be UK based
Ideal candidates would be from a Rolling Stock / Rail background but other industries may be considered
Computer literate
Keen eye for detail
Able to read detailed schematics and technical documentation
Be able to fault find
Ability to communicate and mediate with the client
Ability to communicate and mediate with the Shift Production Managers
Able to work in a high pressure environment and to prioritise work loads

Qualifications:
Time Served recognised Apprenticeship in a relevant Mechanical Discipline
NVQ Level 4 / HNC
