Railway Vegetation Management: Arborist

Length: 12 Months

Location: Cardiff

Pay: £100-200/Daily

We are currently looking for three arborists to join a rail team in South Wales on a long-term contract basis.

The main purpose of the role is the safe removal and clearance of vegetation and trees on and off the tracks (Railway).

Responsibilities of the Railway Vegetation management team

Delivery of all elements of forestry works.
Considering occupational and environmental risks to members of the workforce and public and raising them with the Supervisor accordingly.
Ensuring a good knowledge of H&S in all elements of site delivery
Ensuring a good understanding of tree identification
Carrying out a complete risk assessment to a high standard
Briefing out risk assessments confidently.
Attending client meetings as required.
Supporting, managing, and giving direction to site teams as necessary.
Attending reviews, updates, and organisational meetings as and when required.
Undertaking all other duties as reasonably required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Experience as an Arborist in a rail environment
Hold NPTC CS30, CS31 and NPTC Chipper qualifications
Personal Track Safety (PTS)
Recent experience as an operator in vegetation in a railway environment
