This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Rail Division. Working with the Head of Rail, the successful applicant will join a growing and successful business with this role focusing on ensuring the efficient and effective supply of specialist labour to support various rail projects and operations across the country. This position requires extensive knowledge of the rail industry, particularly Network Rail’s guidelines and standards, as well as exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement effective strategies for the recruitment, selection, and deployment of skilled workers in accordance with client and Network Rail requirements.

· Maintain a database of qualified and competent rail industry professionals, ensuring availability of labour resources to meet project demands.

· Collaborate with HR and Recruitment teams to identify and attract top talent, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions based on project requirements.

· Support the onboarding process, ensuring that all workers are properly trained, certified, and in compliance with client and Network Rail regulations.

· Work closely with our clients, attending all meetings, to understand project scopes, timelines, and labour requirements, and develop operational plans accordingly.

· Allocate resources effectively to ensure adequate coverage of projects, considering skill sets, experience, and project demands.

· Regularly review operational procedures to align with changing Network Rail guidelines, safety standards, and industry best practices and update the team accordingly to ensure required changes are implemented.

· Stay up to date with Network Rail guidelines and regulations, and ensure all workers are trained and certified as per the required standards.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with client representatives, workers, and other key stakeholders.

· Attend meetings, presentations, and forums related to both client and Network Rail requirements, providing updates and addressing any concerns or issues.

· Act as a primary point of contact for client queries, ensuring prompt and effective communication and resolution of any issues raised.

Requirements:

· Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role in the rail industry, with a focus on supplying labour to Network Rail projects.

· Strong knowledge of Network Rail guidelines, regulations, and industry standards.

· Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

· Valid driving license and willingness to travel as required.
