We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Rail Civil Design Engineer to undertake the CRE duties being based out of Doncaster/working from home. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for designing detailed technical drawings for successful approval of rail civil infrastructure constructions. Projects will involve signaling civils enabling works including level crossings/power enabling works/ole foundation/temporary works.
As the Rail Civil Design Engineer CRE, you will conduct outline design and detailing of rail civil infrastructure, which includes producing details, specifications and calculations for retaining walls, pad foundation, pile foundations, steelwork elements, amongst other works.
You will manage general measurement surveys of sites as required and proposing likely works to the wider construction team for discussion and agreement and also provide input into large multidisciplinary tenders, both pricing of design elements and into written technical submissions.
Job Requirements
Experience in acting as a Civil Design CRE
Strong hands-on background within Civil Design on Rail projects
Familiar/understanding of Civil Design software such as Tedds, Staad or similar.
Understanding of Eurocode
As mentioned, this position is based in Doncaster, with flexible working between home and office, so could suit candidates in the surrounding areas such as Sheffield, York, Leeds or Derby amongst others. The role is open to both contract and permanent employees.
