Health and Safety Manager – Rail & Civil Engineering – £50k

 

We are recruiting for an exciting and newly created Health and Safety Manager position to join a highly reputable and growing Rail and Civil Engineering organisation.

Working closely with the Head of HSEQ in the development and implementation of the Health and Safety strategy, this hands on and operationally focused position will have the opportunity to be involved in a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from small works to large scale specialist activities within a Rail environment.

The Health and Safety Manager will be fully autonomous visiting sites approximately 3 days per week which are located predominantly across the West midlands and also parts of North England and Wales. The position will also work from a local office in Birmingham and from home.

Key responsibilities of this Health and Safety Manager include:

Support, coach and mentor individuals both inside and outside of the HSEQ function.
Review risk assessments and method statements
Conduct site audits and site inspections
Conduct and assist with incident investigations when required
Provide advice and support to all departments
Assisting the Head of HSEQ with the creation and implementation of the H&S strategy.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives
The successful Health and Safety Manager will hold:

· Experience working in Rail, Civil Engineering, Construction, Highways or similar.
· NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction certificate or equivalent
· Full UK Driving licence
In return the successful Health and Safety Manager will receive:

· Basic salary up to £50,000
· Company van or £5,700 car allowance
