Railway Possession Support

Job Purpose:
When engineering maintenance is required on a section of track, a possession is taken to close the line to normal traffic providing protection for the workers.
As a Possession Support worker, you will carry out duties under direction to assist the safe and efficient delivery of access to the railway infrastructure for engineering maintenance. You will use the necessary equipment and comply with the plans provided for delivering the safe access arrangements.
Please note the majority of work will be during the night and you will be working alone.
Duties:
– To assist in Implementing arrangements
– Support the movement of Engineering Trains
– Comply with all relevant legislation and railway rules
– Clearly communicate with the relevant individuals
– Follow industry and company reporting procedures
– Accurately complete the relevant documentation.
Essential skills & requirements:
– Excellent communication skills
– Confident working alone
– Willingness to learn and develop with a drive to progress within the organisation
– Right to work in the UK
Essential qualifications:
– Hold a full UK Driving Licence
For this role, you will be required to attend our 11-day training programme in Nottingham at our Head Office. The training dates for this advert are across the course of 2 weeks as per below;
14th July – Railway Familiarisation & Manual Handling
15-17th July – Full first aid
18th July – PTS
21-24th July – IWA
25th July – Possession Support
28th July – Possession Management Skills
Please note that the training period is unpaid.
£1000 bonus for completion of training after 3 months.

12 hour shift
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Night shift
Overtime
Weekend availability
