Your future role:

To work and coordinate a team, including movements, shunting and stabling rolling stock to include locomotives in a safe and efficient manner in preparation for train maintenance and delivery.

Checking of relevant notices and computer generated prints
Plan train formation changes
Record vehicle numbers, arrival and departure times
Authorising all movements within the Depot
Monitor all shunting activities ensuring compliance with current standards
Signing in of drivers
Carry out rules assessments as required ( If qualified)
Responsible for Overhead Isolations form AS
Monitor and control washplant activities
Validate train formations
Maintain logs as required
FLT Driving
D.P.P duties
Sanding
Fuelling and system top up
General depot duties e.g.: Line of Routes
Chlorinating water points
Primary fault finding/reporting
Gritting of walkways in severe weather conditions and/or exceptional circumstances
Depot cleaning/general housekeeping
Driving company vehicles if certified
Taking of fuel meter readings off rail vehicles
Train cleaning by exception
Alista, SAP and SES input
Crane driving and lifting equipment where training has been provided & competent
Appointed persons
Mentoring others as and when required
Nominated person as required
Additional training for future similar roles/types of equipment
Train driving of all types of unit to site.
