NPTC / LANTRA PTS Woodchipper

Zed Rail Limitedd are actively seeking qualified and reliable PTS Woodchipper Operatives for a 2 to 3-month contract based in Watford. This role involves working weekend night shifts and offers a fantastic chance to join a well-established team on a key project.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for operating woodchippers safely and effectively during night shifts every weekend. The position requires strict adherence to health and safety protocols and the ability to work efficiently within a team to meet project demands. The work is physically demanding and requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure both your safety and that of your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate woodchippers in line with site safety standards and manufacturers’ guidelines
Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently during night shifts
Maintain clear communication with site supervisors and team members
Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or issues promptly
Follow all site-specific rules and regulations, especially relating to Personal Track Safety

Candidate Requirements:

Valid Woodchipping qualification from either NPTC or Lantra
Current Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification is essential
Must have full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including:

Full orange high-visibility clothing
Safety boots
Visor
Chainsaw gloves
Helmet
Ability to work night shifts every weekend reliably for the duration of the contract
Strong focus on safety and teamwork
Previous experience working on rail or similar high-safety environments is advantageous
