The Facilities Engineer is responsible for performing repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of company facilities. This role involves electrical, painting, and carpentry work, as well as conducting periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs. The position emphasizes versatility in performing a range of maintenance tasks rather than specialization in a single trade. A strong operational knowledge, gained through extensive experience and/or technical education, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs on fixtures, equipment, and company premises.
– Conduct routine inspections to assess and prioritize maintenance work.
– Maintain tools and equipment necessary for job performance.
– Work with limited supervision on non-routine tasks and may oversee daily operations.
– Train, delegate, and review the work of junior team members.
– Troubleshoot and resolve complex, non-routine maintenance issues.

Experience & Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:

– Education & Certification:Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
– ATEX CompEx certification.
– DSEAR Competent (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations).
– Technical Experience:Proven experience in fuel farm operations, fuel management, and testing facilities.
– Strong understanding of testing processes, equipment, and leading technologies.
– Knowledge of fuel systems and related safety protocols.
– Experience in risk analysis, problem-solving, and control systems.
– Skills & Competencies:Clear and confident communicator (written and verbal).
– Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
– Ability to challenge existing practices constructively while building trust.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written/verbal instructions.
– Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
– Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

– Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science.
