We are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the train cleaning team at Blackpool LMD and Blackpool North Train Station.
We are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.
The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 333 to be precise, so it’s safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!
The Role:
We are currently looking for an individual to join the day shift cleaning team as a Train Cleaner based at the Blackpool LMD Depot. You will be based at Blackpool LMD Depot but will have to go to Blackpool North Train Station to carry out internal cleans on the trains there as well. As a Train Cleaner you will be carrying out all aspects of interior cleaning, which includes duties such as:
• Hoovering/dusting/sweeping
• Mopping
• Sanitizing touch points
• Cleaning/restocking toilets
• Cleaning graffiti
• Changing bins
• Picking up litter
You will be working on a 7 on 7 off shift pattern, with working hours being from 08:00 – 18:00.
Pay Rate & Benefits:
The pay rate for the train cleaner position will be at £12.14 per hour on an initial 6-month basis.

Requirements:
• Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Be able to pass a full railway medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
• Be able to attend a week of training at Allerton Depot (Liverpool) on 03/03/2025
• Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
• Must have team leading experience, but this does NOT have to be rail based
• Happy to help mentality/attitude
• A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying.
