Your Future Role
Take on a new challenge and apply your digital learning expertise and project management in a cutting-edge field. You will work alongside a collaborative, innovative team focused on safety and performance. You will make a significant impact by leading the full lifecycle of the Training & Competency Tracking and Assessment Tool project, ensuring safety, compliance, and workforce competency across multiple sites. Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with teams across the business (e.g., Information Systems & Technology (IS&T), operational staff, and regulatory bodies), customize learning tools to meet site-specific needs, and evaluate both in-house and external solutions for training and competency tracking.
You will specifically oversee the piloting and assessment of new platforms, ensuring that safety management systems meet regulatory requirements, while also managing technical collaboration and release management for seamless deployment.
We Will Look to You For:
- Leading the full lifecycle of the Training & Competency Tracking and Assessment Tool project.
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define and align project scope and objectives.
- Evaluating and improving technical competency tools to meet safety, legal, and contractual requirements.
- Leading pilots of non-customized platforms and assessing their operational effectiveness.
- Identifying and assessing competency solutions for safety and compliance.
- Coordinating with IS&T and digital teams to implement technical solutions.
- Overseeing release management to ensure timely software updates.
- Proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Degree or qualification in Learning/Training.
- Experience with learning software, data systems, and analytics.
- Background in engineering, railway, or regulatory operations.
- Experience in a managerial position.
- Experience working across multiple sites with a significant blue-collar workforce.
- Understanding of competency legislation and safety standards.
- Knowledge of Competency Management Systems (CMS) / Learning Management Systems (LMS) implementation and management.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptability, problem-solving, and project management expertise.
- Familiarity with Train Operating Systems Maintenance (TOSM) systems.
- Experience in user-centric design and supporting local champions during rollout.

Rail-Specific Operational Knowledge
- Knowledge of safety and compliance training requirements.
- Awareness of Train Operating Safety Management (TOSM) systems.
User-Centric Design & Support
- Apply design thinking to create intuitive solutions.
- Deliver train-the-trainer sessions and support local champions.
