We are currently looking for a Technical Bid Writer to join a successful Work Winning Team for  Transport division, covering rail and aviation.

Reporting into the Bid Manager, the role will be to lead on major project and framework PQQ and ITT submissions for key clients, working with the estimating team and sponsors to prepare competitive and innovative technical solutions to provide the winning edge to submissions.

The role will involve site visits, programming and planning the works, liaising with the supply chain, working with the SMEs (subject matter experts), overseeing, and partaking in the physical bid writing function and managing the bid and review process to ensure quality responses are prepared on time.

The role will be home based so geographic location is not important.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

Actively lead the technical submission requirements
Supporting operational teams to develop operational solution and technical capability
Manage the interface and engagement with the operational leads relevant to the opportunity
Formulation and development of the bid/tender management team with respect to the technical submission
Developing programmes, construction plans, mobilisation plans
Liaise with the supply chain to identify innovative solutions and alternative methods of constrctuction
Enhance the current major projects tendering process to improve the company’s ability to win work
Conduct and contribute towards pre and post tender/bid meetings with clients in pursuit of securing work
Oversee and partake in the physical bid writing function
Facilitate and actively engage with other departments within the business where relevant.

Skills and knowledge requirements:

Effective communication skills both verbal and written
Knowledge of the Rail and/or aviation and civil infrastructure market sectors
Proven track record in a similar role
Excellent organisational skills
Confident and self-motivated individual with the ability to innovate
Able to manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands
Be able to work with others to understand, develop and harness the knowledge and best practice both within and outside of the business
Report writing skills
Bid management (desirable but not essential)
