This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, performance, and compliance of lightweight metal structures — particularly aluminium fabrications — across a wide range of applications.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed Linear and Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and fabricated components
Use ANSYS to perform simulations, validate models, and provide actionable insights to the design and manufacturing teams
Apply Eurocode standards in structural analysis and documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and structural integrity of designs
Investigate failure modes, fatigue performance, and stress concentrations in metal fabrications
Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis methodology and design validation processes
Key Requirements
Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering (or similar discipline)
Strong hands-on experience with both Linear and Non-Linear FEA
Proficient in ANSYS for simulation and structural analysis
Working knowledge of Eurocodes for compliance in structural design
Solid understanding of metal fabrication techniques, with a strong focus on aluminium structures
Experience interpreting and improving designs to meet strength, stiffness, and durability targets
Desirable Experience
Exposure to weld design and mechanical fastening in lightweight structures
Familiarity with fatigue analysis, buckling, and large deformation simulations
Experience working in sectors such as defence, rail, aerospace, or architectural metalwork
