Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a rapidly expanding SME specializing in electro-mechanical systems. This position, based in Southampton, will see you playing a pivotal role in developing solutions for multiple high-tech industries including automotive, aerospace, defence and rail.

Key Responsibilities:

– Design and development of electro-mechanical systems
– Conducting thermal and stress analysis to ensure product integrity under operational conditions.
– FEA
– Utilising 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks, for design and simulation.
– Hand calculations

Skills required:

– Mechanical Design: Minimum 3 years industry experience
– Thermal & Stress Analysis: Ability to perform detailed analysis to predict the performance under thermal and mechanical stresses.
– SolidWorks Proficiency: Expertise in using SolidWorks for mechanical design and analysis, with additional experience in SolidWorks Flow and vibration environments being highly desirable.
– Electro-mechanical systems design would be desirable
