We are looking for someone who can work as part of a fast paced team who deals with sensitive data, can follow strict policies and procedures and can spot those finer details others may miss.

It is currently a hybrid approach, so you would be expected to work from the office at least 2 days per week.

The Shared Services team deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, recruitment and onboarding, payables, receivables, financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance, and helpdesk support.

What will you be doing?

The payments team make payments to suppliers, employees, local authorities and Railway neighbours.
About the role :

Check paperwork, highlight errors and request corrections to be made
Ensure Network Rail policies and procedures are being followed to mitigate fraud and maintain good financial control
Liaise with internal teams to ensure adherence to HMRC / tax regulations
Respond to a variety of queries for internal customers via the shared mailbox
Work to strict deadlines in target driven environment in order to meet KPI’s & SLA’s
Prepare manual payments, pay expense claims, generate electronic payments and input data
Manage international payments, internal bank transfers, online banking, bank statement uploading and emergency payment requests

What could set you apart:

Experience using Oracle / similar electric payment software
Experience in a similar role / shared service environment
Knowledge of construction industry tax scheme
