Senior Planner

We’re looking for a Senior Planner to join our Rail team based in Salford.

Location: Salford – remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Hours: 42 hours per week

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you’ll be working within the Planning team, supporting them in planning and programming for large or complex rail infrastructure and associated buildings projects (over £20m). This may consist of a portfolio of smaller projects and may also involve managing planners who provide support with these schemes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Producing contract programme (Cl31), period updates (Cl32), Change programmes and associated narrative report.Ensure compliance to NEC4 Contract Conditions within the programme, keeping the project manager regularly informed of any slippage and movement in the programme (minimum Weekly) Ensure the team are using the Aphex software to Our required standards
  • Producing and obtaining client approval of risk programmes (QSRA) capturing correctly all change in the programmes in line with NEC timescales
  • Meeting and exceeding key business targets and KPI’s, proactively approaching mitigation, risk and opportunities, promoting a culture of integrated, best practice and continual business improvement
  • Complying with Our Integrated Management System, providing regular information on the progress of projects and performance of subcontractors
  • Supporting and developing other junior staff members

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

  • You are working on multi-discipline rail projects i.e. civils. buildings, Pway, OLE, E&P, M & E and SISS comms, production of schedules from first principles and in particular using a methodical and analytical approach
  • Are familiar with NEC4 contract conditions in programme commercial management i.e. compensation events, can develop a detailed programme from first principles using the contract documentation, are currently clearly identifying major quantities and constraints that may affect the programme.
  • Have experience with Reporting EVA preferably with a working knowledge of RMM, Oracle Primavera P6 – In depth knowledge and reporting to Client contractual requirements, risk Management producing QSRA programmes and assigning risk registers to activities in preparation and resultant
