Production Operative

We are a multi-divisional engineering company and we are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our current engineering team.

Job Description:

We are currently looking to recruit a Production Operative to join us on a permanent basis in our busy Engineering Overhaul Department. It is important that the person who applies has an eye for detail and is able to follow company working practices so as to ensure the product leaves the company right first time.

Working hours are 40 per week, working Monday – Thursday, 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Cap and label hose assemblies ready for dispatch
• Assembly and kitting of parts
• Assist in making hose assemblies
• Operate a range of different tools and machinery
• Cut out hose assemblies ready for shot blast and paint
• Assemble brake coupling assemblies following
• Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and adhered to at all times
• Ensure your work space in clean and organized at all times
• Other general housekeeping duties as requested

Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Experience of working within a similar role
• Effective and professional communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work to own initiative
• Able to work individually or as part of a team
• Enthusiastic and reliable

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a rail industry would be advantageous.
• Full UK clean driving license.
• Previous experience of continuous improvement and improving process / current practices.
