About the role:
Our Qualified Customer Driver role is for those passionate about customer service.
Customer Drivers play a crucial role in setting a new standard for rail in the 21st Century, which is focused on creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally sustainable experiences for our customers and colleagues. In addition to driving our customers to their destinations, giving amazing customer service, we expect our Customer Drivers to give amazing customer service, follow the correct procedures, and working with colleagues to ensure our services runs efficiently.
The primary role of the Customer Driver is to safely operate the trains Lumo-Stirling run, keeping to a strict schedule whilst keeping customers and colleagues safe. The customer driver will promote safety, punctuality, security, information, cleanliness, and customer service through all avenues, challenging poor practice and recognising excellent performance.
About you:
Do you have fantastic time management skills with the ability to work alone and focus on concentrating in a safety conscious environment?
Are you able to follow instructions when the need for safety is paramount, always?
Do have excellent communication skills and enjoy working within an environment with strict procedures and protocols.
Do you enjoy assisting colleagues and customers in the interests of safety and customer service?
If so, this role could an excellent career opportunity for you! You will be a ualified Customer Driver holding the European Train Driving Licence. You will be qualified to drive 222 trains although you may be required to drive other types of trains and if so, training will be provided. You will be able to operate tablet and other electronic devices required in the course of the Customer Driver’s duties. Additionally, you will need to hold a successful and valid DBS check certificate.
As a minimum you will need to have:
You must be 21 years of age or older as this is an industry requirement.
You must hold a European Train Driving Licence.
You will need to live within 60 minutes travel time to the depot, which is located at Preston, without using public transport when it is not available. The safety responsibilities make this requirement a necessity.
The ability to work shifts of varying start times, including weekends and nights shifts.
You will be required to drive our traction lines 222 trains or any other type of train, for which we will provide you with training.

You will need to live within a 60 minute commute to Preston.
