The Purpose of the role:

Ensuring trains are cleaned to the required standards in an efficient and timely manner so that standards are met. The daily allocation of cleaning tasks as well as the monitoring of staff attendance and performance to feedback to management where required. Communication of staffing issues to the Nights Manager.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Carry out regular cleaning inspections/audit, address areas where cleaning does not meet the required standards, record cleaning audits.
Develop and maintain open communication with colleagues to ensure a positive, productive work environment.
Monitor audit result to ensure all failures are addressed and rectified within allocated completion time.
Monitor timekeeping and attendance of team members, escalating any concerns to the Nights Manager. Authorising emergency leave and communicating leave requests to nightshift management.
Updating cleaning logs daily.
To ensure all health & safety procedures are followed and challenge any activity not following established procedures, escalating any concerns to the Nights Manager.
Safe use of specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Monitoring of cleaning stocks in the cleaning stores and re-ordering when required.
