Hours Per Week: 40hrs per week

Duration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026

They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.

Position Summary:
This role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

– Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM’s)
– Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings
– Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)
– Working of layout of workstations and storage areas
– Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures
– Continual evaluations of tooling
– Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems
– Create lesson plans for Production Team
– Promote best and safe practice
– Support audits
– Make methods and quality improvements.

Qualifications:
Degree, HNC or HND (engineering)

Functional Knowledge:
– Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication
– Good HSE knowledge
– Keen eye for detail
– Strong communication skills
– Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)
