The Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the strategic leadership, smooth running of planned and cyclical Electrical Maintenance works and oversee reactive works
Conducting technical and site reviews of projects throughout RIBA stages of construction.
Carrying out the role of Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) when required, and reviewing and approving LV isolation permits and method statements in accordance with EAW Act and UoM Safe System of Work (SSoW).
Assisting in the planning, monitoring, and delivery of electrical maintenance and compliance work.
Delivering compliant design and installation requirements for small electrical works.
Providing guidance to in-house teams, consultants, and contractors and ensuring projects’ maintenance and compliance activities are successfully delivered.
Providing strategic support and assistance to the Head of Estates Engineering
To be considered an ideal candidate you will have:
An appropriate vocational qualification to HNC Level, or an equivalent
An established track record in electrical project delivery.
Experience of large site electrical infrastructure.
Experience in setting and monitoring electrical standards.
Experience in establishing, managing, and delivering maintenance activities.
Experience of producing quality briefing documents to enable consulting engineers to develop design briefs that meet the University’s requirements.
