As our Engineering Change Manager (ECM) you are responsible for ensuring that all Engineering Changes implemented on RE cross-channel fleets assure the trains’ continued compliance, so they remain authorized and available for service. Similarly, the ECM oversees the cross-channel fleets’ maintenance plans development and implementation to assure no safety or reliability risk are inadvertently introduced.

 

This is a permanent role based in our Engineering Centre, that is in Leyton, East London.

 

Requirements:

Will maintain independence from the Engineering Change development to carry out the pre-requisite verification before the Professional Head’s approval.

Will own, manage and apply the tools required to engage and track progress of Engineering Changes from inception, through approval & implementation, to completion. This will enable coordinated planning of Engineering Change implementation.

Will own and manage EIL Rolling Stock’s Engineering Change process (EF003) to ensure that the governance stipulated by UK Railway Industry

Will collate the Engineering Change related risks & associated contingencies and enforce the elimination of risk causes &/or implementation of additional controls to minimise repercussions on fleet compliance & operation.

Will chair the Rolling Stock weekly Technical Planning Meeting as the primary formal mechanism to coordinate with the key Rolling Stock internal suppliers to implement Engineering Changes in the shortest timeframe as practicable.

Will manage external contractor to maintain the e300 drawing suite up to date.

Will develop appropriate measures and analyse the progress of Engineering Changes to identify risks to timely delivery and to justify adequate Engineering resource in terms of people, tools and consultancy.

Will develop & maintain the competence of Eurostar On Call Authorizing Engineer and be available to join the roster so deviations to rolling stock’s authorized configurations & or maintenance plans are acceptably controlled and resolved in a reasonable timeframe.

 

Essential:

HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent specialising in Engineering
Demonstrable navigation through, and understanding of complex, (numerous stakeholders, third party verification and/or significant according to CSM-REA) Engineering Changes – ideally in rolling stock context.
Regulatory requirements related to Engineering Change including and verification.
Change management
Managing safety
Rolling stock legislation, regulations and standards.
