Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK’s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £250m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK’s and London’s landmark projects. Typically they specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.
Role: Mechanical Project Manager / Project Engineer – London – £75-£85 per hour. (Late Shifts)
The candidate will be responsible for managing the shell & core and fit out on a commercial refurbishment of a listed building circa £15m M&E.
Responsibilities:
Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
Technical submittals
RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
Value Engineering where applicable
Programming of works
Health & Safety management (RAMs)
Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
Management of variations
Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
Overseeing commissioning stages
Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
