About the role:

Implement a national telecom stores and spares capability with efficient supply chain management and manage the provision of logistic support, resource planning and administration to meet the demands of all Telecoms maintenance, repair, project build and assurance commitments.

 

What will you be doing?

Develop and drive the national telecoms Logistic Support Team to plan the resources required for all current and future work schedules, in order to effectively support project build and fault/fix activities.
Establish an efficient national stores and spares capability, in order to support the ongoing maintenance, repair and assurance of all telecom assets.
Plan and manage an audit cycle of all nationwide facilities used for storing telecoms equipment, in order to identify improvements and embed best practice, confirm compliance to Telecoms Materials Standard and improve safety, efficiency and stock availability.
Review and monitor the replenishment of stock levels through analysis of accurate stores data, to forecast demand in order to deliver the required equipment/materials to the most appropriate location.
Manage the provision of Safe Systems of Work Packs for all maintenance, repair and project activity and conduct regular safety audits, in order that all packs and associated documentation remain fit for purpose and meet current safety standards.
Manage the national database of assets issued to the preferred maintainer and analyse the regional reports in order to co-ordinate the distribution of spares to best support maintenance activities.
Control, develop, and maintain a data-based plan to eradicate obsolete stock which will, maintain an accurate view of national stock quantities and run rates in order to identify and reduce slow moving/redundant stock and provide impact assessments to the telecoms obsolescence review board.

 

Essential:

Demonstrable experience of stock control and supply chain management
Customer focused with experience in the telecoms or railway industry
Experience in stakeholder management
Experience managing stores
Experience writing and maintaining material procedures
Experience maintaining material data at a high level of accuracy.
Experience using best practice storage and monitoring tools and techniques (including, but not limited to Enterprise Resource Planning ERP software)
Experience maintaining spares and material records
Familiar with governance techniques including reporting on performance and performance review meetings.

 

Desirable:

Experience managing a team
Experience taking part in break fix scenarios.
