£25.65 per hour – Umbrella paid (Inside IR35) – minimum 42 hours per week
Mixed shifts including (days, afternoons, nights and weekends)

If you are a skilled electrical or dual skilled (electrical & mechanical) Technician with a sound understanding of electrical maintenance principles, then you may have what we are looking to make the switch.

Typical automotive backgrounds could be HGV or PSV within a dealer such as DAF, MAN or Volvo. Alternatively, perhaps you have worked as a Master Technician maybe on light vehicles or light goods vehicles?

You will have a great opportunity to build your skills on safety critical rail vehicles, carrying out electrical maintenance and repairs to a large fleet of vehicles such as locomotive and wagons.

You will work out of the Crewe Depot where hundreds of trains are maintained yearly.

The Candidate

You will be comfortable with maintenance procedures of electrical components and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and diesel engine maintenance principles.
You will be able to quickly interpret electrical instructions, follow strict guidelines and work to written specifications set by our client on how they wish for their rail vehicles to be maintained.
As part of the above, there will be full training on the systems and procedures that you will be required to carry out which will take place in the Midlands. As a result, you will need to be flexible to stay away from home for an initial 3 to 4-week period whilst this training is completed during week days.
You will understand the use of testing equipment such as multimeters, flukes and muggers and be able to read and understand schematic diagrams to carry out maintenance duties.

Essential

You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 to qualify for this role. This does not have to be a rail specific NVQ but will need to be one of a mechanical, electrical or engineering based nature.
