As Lead Commercial Manager you will be taking ownership of the entire commercial business unit and will be tasked with driving the growth and development of an experienced commercial team, who are currently 11 Quantity Surveyor’s strong with ambition to strengthen as the project and client base expands. We are looking for a commercial specialist, with demonstrable experience leading and developing a team in addition to having the technical knowledge to help expand the company’s current commercial service offering in their pursuit to double to company’s turnover in the next 24-months. This will be achieved by looking at the existing customer and project portfolio and actively seeking new opportunities to expand on the company’s commercial services, such as helping shape their client’s procurement function, and offering QCRA, as well as opening new sectors and business areas, and perhaps taking on work overseas.

OAs Lead Commercial Manager you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the commercial team whilst working with a diverse client base on a variety of high-profile transportation projects. You will be responsible for nurturing the development of the commercial team a well as the business as a whole. With the right leadership, this team could develop into their own standalone business unit so for an ambitious individual.

Location: Birmingham (city centre) with hybrid working

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
Essential: Commercial management experience within the rail sector
Essential: Commercial/Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent vocational
Essential: Demonstrable experience leading and developing a commercial team/business unit
Essential: Extensive NEC contract experience to consult/educate team members and clients
Desirable: Experience working in a client or consultancy environment
Desirable: Chartered Surveyor (MRICS)
