Railway Executives are delighted to be working with an industrial equipment manufacturer and supplier to some of the world’s leading sectors including Rail and Aerospace. They are looking to hire a Junior Project Coordinator to join their specialist Rail Projects team based at their Derbyshire site. The company are ambitious in everything they do and will train their employees to become skilled professionals with expertise in their industry, making this an ideal role for an ambitious Apprentice Trained Engineer or young Rail industry professional looking to train up in projects.

The successful candidate will support the Project Manager throughout the entire project lifecycle to deliver a range of strategic and specialised projects for their Rail customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Support the Project Manager with daily tasks, whilst undertaking side projects under the guidance of the Project Manager to ensure specifications of each task have been met
Assist with ongoing project planning, scoping, and scheduling to meet customer requirements
Assist with the preparation and creation of progress reports and compliance documentation
Support the Project Manager with risk management tasks by regularly updating risk logs and producing issue reports
Collaborate with cross functional business unit heads to support with additional project requirements
Ensure key project documentation is recorded correctly and maintained, including updating Excel spreadsheets and project tracking system
Support the Health, Safety & Quality Managers with audits and assessments to ensure HSEQ requirements are met
Build and maintain professional relationships with internal management, suppliers, vendors, and customers.

 

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience working in Rail industry highly advantageous but not essential
Holder of a Prince 2 Project Management certification desirable
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Confident working on time constrained tasks and meeting regular customer demands
First class interpersonal and organisational skills
Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD (desirable) and Sage (desirable)
Full UK driving license preferred but not essential
