6-month initial contract with the opportunity to join on a permanent basis.

Zed Rail Limited are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the train cleaning team Hull Paragon Station & Hull Botanic Gardens Depot. We are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.
The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 333 to be precise, so it’s safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!
We are looking to hire someone with a ‘go getter’ attitude who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.
The Role:
The role itself will consist of all aspects of Train Cleaner duties. This will include all aspects of interior cleaning, from hoovering floors, replenishing/cleaning toilets, sanitizing touch points, buffering and much more.
When you’re working at the station, your duties will be full clean focused. When you are based at the depot, your duties will be deep clean focused.
Hours wise, it is an 20:00pm – 06:00am night shift role, which will consist of working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern – although this may also run as a continental shift pattern, i.e 5 on 3 off.
You will be looking after the Northern Rail fleet only.

Requirements:
Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
Be able to pass a Full Rail Medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
Be able to attend a week of training W/C 28/07/2025 at Neville Hill Depot, Leeds
Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
Happy to help mentality/attitude
A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
