Junior Quantity Surveyor

Summary:

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team at West Maintenance Services. In this role, you will be responsible for managing costs and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget, contributing to our commitment to excellence in the rail industry.

Your role would also include the completion of tenders, and sourcing new tenders to complete in order to broaden our work opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on specifications and drawings.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial efficiency.
Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contracts.
Evaluate subcontractor bids and manage procurement processes.

Requirements:

Ideally some experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.
Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or construction management preferred.

The office is based at Faversham, Kent within our workshop.
