Join our Operations Team – Electrical, Mechanical, Management Information Systems (‘EMMIS’) Controllers
Brief Description
The role
We are excited to be introducing an EMMIS Controller into the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody to join our great team based at Ashford International, to operate and monitor the traction and signalling power supply/auxiliary system. You will ensure adequate security of supply is maintained – whilst also ensuring it is consistent with operating requirements and safety instructions (and procedures).
You will initiate the emergency isolation procedure (as required) to make the electrical system safe, whilst also keeping relevant personnel updated on operating service information (this is to facilitate a high standard of train performance).
This role involves carrying out high voltage switching and also providing a safe isolation of plant for maintenance and testing purposes to ensure minimum disruption to services.

About the role (External)
The person
So, who are we looking for? If you can answer ‘yes’ to the following questions, then we look forward to receiving your application.
Do you have:
- ONC (or above/equivalent) in an electrical discipline? This is equivalent to Level 3 NVQ/ BTEC (please note that this absolutely essential – so please ensure that you do have this qualification before applying)
- Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate clearly both verbal & written?
- The ability to react to emergency situations safely and effectively?
- A professional approach (focussed on safety and business improvement)?
- The flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks (at multiple locations)?
Although it isn’t essential, it would be an extra plus if you had experience/knowledge of working in an electrical switching environment – and if you have a full UK driving licence and some knowledge of railway operations, even better!

Grade 10 – £59374
