The Role:

As a Machine Operator, you’ll be an integral part of rail team, ensuring the seamless operation of rail track maintenance for our customers contributing to our reputation for excellence.​

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Operate all our plant & machinery, on which you have been trained, to meet customer requirements ’ and industry standards.
Responsible for ensuring that vehicles, tools and equipment under your control are fit for use and used, stored, maintained in line with company policy.
Maintaining a safe working environment and be responsible for adhering to health & safety legislation, industry standards and company procedure (as trained) when operating equipment.
Carrying out safety checks on the machinery and be responsible for your own safety and that of your team.
Knowledge sharing with new trainee Machine Operators (mentor)
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork that is required, in full and on time.
Maintain a high level of care and attention to vehicle and plant and to report any damages.
Adhere to the company driving policy​
You need to be able to commute in well under an hour from your home to our Doncaster Depot.

 

(Our rules around this are based on Network Rail Standards around fatigue management and door to door Work and Travel Time).

That you can drive and hold (ideally) a clean driving licence. Preference to holding Class 2 or above.
Ideally hold your PTS. If not, we can provide training.

Due to the nature of railway maintenance you will be required to work night shifts & weekends.

Entry Level as a Trainee Machine Operator, progressing to Machine Operator within 4-6 months.
