Machine Operator

Role Purpose:
Ensure that all track, plant, and machine work is performed to a high standard, in full compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Role Dynamic:
This role reports to the Supervisor/Operator. It involves working unsociable hours and weekends. You must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials, and performing duties in varying weather conditions.
Your Tasks;
Compliance:
Ensure all allocated work complies with relevant Health & Safety regulations as well as Network Rail Standards.
Perform only those tasks for which you are trained and hold valid competencies
Ensure the machines or plant used have the correct certification
Adhere to RSUK Standard Operating Procedures.
Operational Delivery:
Conduct pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure safe operation.
Operate and monitor plant machinery and equipment.
Identify and report mechanical issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Record operational data such as run times and downtime.
Adhere to plant and machine safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
Support the maintenance activities by performing basic maintenance and cleaning as per the maintenance schedule.
Engage in tasks outside the immediate scope of your role to broaden your experience and support evolving business needs.
Communication:
Represent the company professionally and build strong working relationships with clients and contractors.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (email, word processing).
Strong planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills.

Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines and work instructions.
Key Experience:
Valid full UK driving licence – Essential
Right to work in the UK – Essential
PTS – desirable
CSCS – desirable
