Purchasing Administrator
Location: Dewsbury
Salary: Up to £30,000 + 32 days holiday + excellent benefits
Contract: Full-time, permanent (office based)

 

 

Zed Rail Limited are currently working with a well-established manufacturing organization in Dewsbury to recruit a Purchasing Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong numerical and analytical skills to play a key role in a busy purchasing team.

 

 

 

Experience required:

– Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing or supply chain administration role
– Confident with Excel and data analysis
– Strong numeracy, accuracy, and organisational skills
– Proactive with the ability to make decisions independently
– Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

 

 

 

Key responsibilities:

– Monitoring stock levels, demand forecasts, and usage trends to raise purchase orders and ensure stock is maintained at optimal levels
– Processing daily, weekly, and ad-hoc purchase orders, ensuring suppliers receive accurate details
– Reviewing supplier order confirmations, resolving any discrepancies, and updating NAV with the latest delivery information
– Communicating potential order delays or impacts to sales and production teams promptly to avoid disruption
– Coordinating with the Goods In team to ensure smooth receipt of deliveries
– Tracking weekly Goods In reports and chasing suppliers on outstanding deliveries
– Maintaining accurate supplier records, delivery notes, and supporting documentation
– Making independent decisions to balance stock availability with cost efficiency
– Producing reports on supplier performance, including KPIs and OTIF (On Time In Full) metrics
