An exciting opportunity to join us as a New Trains Assistant Project Manager on an 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
Reporting to the Head of New Trains, you will support the Aurora Project Team in planning, designing, and delivering improvements for our Class 810 franchise obligations across Railway Executives.
What else you’ll be involved in:
Support Aurora project delivery, ensuring adherence to time, scope, and quality aligned with our long-term strategy.
Work with Rock Rail and Hitachi to capture project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies as they arise, escalating them to the Joint Project Manager, Hitachi Head of Programme, and Rock Rail Commercial Manager as needed.
Maintain project documentation to ensure compliance with contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Provide daily administrative / planning support, including the creation of internal newsletters and communications related to the Aurora project sharing best practice and success stories.
Maintain Project Communications Register, working Hitachi’s Project Support Officer to cross-check and verify both records.
What we need from you:
Willingness to work towards a Project Management Qualification (ideally APM PFQ).
A-Level or equivalent experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project stakeholders
Strong team player with excellent time management and task prioritisation abilities
Proficient in IT, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
Experience working in a project management environment.

We have an hybrid working policy which is applicable for this role. This means the role can be based at home 2-3 days and onsite 2-3 days per week. Should you wish to work full time on site, this is also an option.
