We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Customer Sales Advisors, where you’ll confidently and impartially sell a wide range of tickets and services while exceeding customer expectations.

About the job?

You will have a multifunctional role. You will confidently and impartially sell the full range of tickets and services, ensuring that customer requirements are met and exceeded, you will ensure that station activities including cleaning and customer assistance are completed safely and punctually and provide key information across the Stroud Valley stations.

This is a General Purpose Relief role and therefore you will be expected to work shifts across four stations: Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud and Kemble. As a result, there is an expectation of lone working during some shifts and access to your own transport will be required to fulfil the role.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Providing the highest level of customer service and being dedicated to customer needs
  • Accurately and impartially selling the full range of products and services to our customers in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Maximising opportunities for increased sales at ticket offices by adopting selling techniques and offering enhanced products to customers
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and cleaning of ticket machines and IT equipment
  • Accurately completing all accountancy and other associated documentation
  • Providing information and assistance to customers
  • Ensuring the safety of customers, staff, visitors and contractors is given the highest priority
  • Maintaining a safe, pleasant and clean station environment, including cleaning and gritting

You’ll need to be:

  • Able to deliver extraordinary front line customer service
  • Able to understand customer requirements and expectations
  • A self-starter with a can do attitude
  • Confident when decision-making
  • Calm yet directive in a crisis
  • Able to work to strict procedures

As a minimum you’ll need to have:

  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Evidence of numerical ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to multitask well
  • Have your own transport

Additional information?

This is a General Purpose Relief position, therefore more flexibility is required. Due to the nature of the shifts work involved in these roles, applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing 20 October 2025.
