We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced COSS (Controller of Site Safety) to join a team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all site personnel and the public while work is being carried out on the railway.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and enforce safety procedures and policies on site
Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks
Liaise with site managers and supervisors to ensure that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry regulations
Oversee the safe movement of plant, vehicles, and personnel on site
Coordinate emergency procedures in the event of an incident
Monitor and report on safety performance and recommend improvements
Ensure that all site personnel are trained and competent in their roles
Maintain accurate safety documentation and records

Hourly Rates;

Weekday: £16.44 – £18.35
Weeknight: £20.55-£2.93
Weekend day: £16.44 – £18.35
Sat night: £18.36 – £24.99

Requirements:

minimum of 3 years’ experience in a COSS role within the rail industry
Hold a valid COSS qualification
PTS
Good knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety procedures
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress situations
