Christmas Character/Performer

A great opportunity to join our busiest and most exciting time of the year. Working with a team of fellow actors with support from our Duty Manager, this role requires the ability to portray a dynamic and engaging character.

Job Purpose:

To work as part of the performance team to make a magical moment with families either on a stage or as an interactive character, to maintain that energy throughout the day and to have an upbeat, positive attitude!

Key Responsibilities:

• Warming up both physically and vocally before each shift
• To dress appropriately in base layers and provided costume
• To deliver a high-quality performance throughout the day
• Always ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of your area
• To learn the script as provided for your area
• To maintain a positive and upbeat attitude throughout the duration of your shift
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Displaying good listening skills, identifying customer needs and responding to them quickly
• Supporting and helping colleagues with their work and getting involved in day-to-day activities as and when required
• Showing a genuine interest in other people and willingness to help
• Showing flexibility and willingness to meet company needs during the period of employment regarding hours, work and duties
• Adherence to all Company policies and procedures e.g. timekeeping, absence reporting procedures etc

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous acting experience in panto, theatre or other visitor attraction centres
• Able to communicate clearly and confidently with the public
• Able to consistently maintain character across multiple shows throughout the season
• Ability to demonstrate good teamwork and co-operation

Hours of work:

This casual contract will start ASAP and will last until Christmas Eve.

Rate of pay:

The rate of pay is dependant on age and which role you are in.

Performers who work in our key stage roles are entitled to £14.50 per hour for over 18’s.

Performers who work in grotto roles are entitled to £14.50 per hour for over 18’s.
