The role
We’re looking for an Assistant Project Procurement Manager to join our Customer Services Procurement Team in Northampton (with flexibility to work from home 3 days per week).
This is your chance to play a critical part in keeping the UK rail network moving. You’ll:
- Lead sourcing activities and manage supplier performance.
- Collaborate with UK-based suppliers to deliver innovative products and services.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and deliver the best outcomes for passengers.
- Support train maintenance projects across the UK with your commercial and procurement expertise.
You’ll make a difference by …
- Developing robust procurement strategies aligned to bid / project scope requirements and drive these through the implementation phase.
- Developing the skills required to draft subcontracts and negotiate with suppliers.
- Supporting and maintain the procurement strategy and ensure this is aligned with the wider business
- Participate in project kick off meetings to ensure procurement requirements are built in at the front end.
- Implementing robust procurement processes and controls into the projects in line with governance.
- Building and keep effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Implementing a robust Supplier Management regime to document supplier performance and drive improvements.
- Identifying Supply Chain Risks and ensure these are documented as part of our wider due diligence process.
